Nowhere near my comprehensive reading list – just my absolute favourites! As y’all know, my number 1 is ‘The Earth is Online’. The rest are in no particular order.

Reign of Hunters by Season of Fireworks

My Summary: So my favourite Male/Female story. Set in a virtual gaming reality in modern day time, the story descriptions of the game experiences, world exploring, attacking bosses and dungeons, and just the protagonist’s adventure in general are AMAZING! And the Romance is so spicy and satisfying, wow. I really really ship these two. The protagonist is a bit of a loner and slightly socially awkward, but she’s really good at gaming – one of the ‘god level players’ in the game eventually and has super high DPS. However, though she’s a ~lone wolf~ she eventually gathers lots of people around her and finds true friends and lots of people who look up to her.
[Note: LOVE THIS STORY. First story I decided to suffer through the Chinese and actually finish reading by myself, so it’s got a special place in my heart ❤ ]

Escape the Infinity Chamber by Zi Jie

Summary: One day, Luo Jian woke up from his sleep and found himself in a locked chamber where the door and window were all sealed. A note with a few lines written on it was tacked to the wall: “Escape from this room within an hour, otherwise, you will die.”
[Note: LOVE this story too. Romance is between a player called Luo Jian (shou) and a ‘Stalker’ (gong) he met in his very first game. ‘Stalkers’ are inhuman patrols for the game, and his job is to kill players (hence supernatural aspect – human/nonhuman relationship). Obviously, bb caught hubby’s eye with his death defiance and determination hahaha so hubby let him go and ended up following him to various games and occasionally helping him out. Such an amazing story, I’ve really got a thing for people who are supposed to kill each other falling in love instead. Mostly plot heavy and thriller heavy, with some (very satisfying) romance.]

Kaleidoscope of Death by Xi ZiXu

My Summary: A set of 12 doors – Lin Qiushi must pass through all in order to survive (essentially living on borrowed time in the real life), and each door obviously gets progressively harder. Lots of horror and ghosts etc, induced in me many shivers and being afraid of being in the dark by myself. Super sweet romance between him and gong Ran Nanzhu (who’s super shameless, likes to crossdress in-game and act all whiny, which is very contrasted to his calm big-president-like persona as an alpha man and boss in real life).
[Note: Highly recommend this if you want a good horror story with very satisfying romance.]

Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss by North Night

[Note: Very interesting story – I actually read all 3,123 chapters so it shows how good it was that I persevered. Different from the various other female-transmigrating-then-cultivating-and-rising-in-ranks stories because this female protagonist is actually smart and savage and not above using bloody or black-bellied methods to get what she wants and protect those that she cares about. She’s a very strong personality, so very satisfying to read. She starts of as a bit of a loner, but eventually finds family and friends that she cherishes.]

[Note: What can I say, best zombie-apocalypse story that I’ve read, hands down. Fully recommend.]
